Thankful

I know, I know. I promised that my next blog was going to be called To Be Or Not to Be an IDIOT and believe me it’s still coming! I just wanted to take the time to state that I am grateful and thankful and I’m not just saying that because this post falls on “Thanksgiving”. I’ve made it a point to be thankful as a way of life, not just one day out of the year. At the risk of alienating people, I’ve always wondered- even as a child why do we celebrate Thanksgiving. I can only imagine how the indigenous population feels. I’m sure they view this “holiday” as an insult as it literally celebrates the survival of the settlers who turned around and showed their thanks by killing, enslaving, stealing, and damn near wiping out the very same people who extended their care and consideration.

But back to the topic at hand. I am thankful for surviving 2020. I am thankful that the majority of people that I know who had COVID, recovered. I am thankful that I have a job, as in America there are millions of people unemployed. I am thankful that I am able to write and will continue to write. I am thankful to you, as, without your support and feedback, I could never grow as a writer. I appreciate your words of encouragement and tough love feedback! So if no one has told you that they are thankful for you- just know that I am.
